February 2018 / by Anna Zalisova

I am starting to get used to snowless winters. It is sad how fast the climate changes. Well, we actually did get some snow even here in the lowland around the Elbe. And how happy we were about it! Even if it was just for like 2 days and no more than 5cm of snow cover. Just wait a little longer, you will see the magnificent snow images in a moment...

I will have to train my eyes to look at winter landscape without snow in a different way. Right now, it seems a bit boring to me and I just can't see anything to make a good picture. Well, challenge accepted. I will get there one day, I know it :-) Meanwhile, I can continue with my favourite mini-nature photos...

Have I ever mentioned how much I love forests? I haven't? Well, I do love forests, you know. I am lucky to live so close to one...literally just 2 minutes from my front door. And here comes the first proof of snow in Pardubice. More to come later.

By the way I officially declare this first photo in the following set of images my #1 favourite woodland photo I have ever taken.

If there was something very much like true February, it was the temperature in the last week. The end of the month saw the highest day temperatures at around -10°C and I have to admit I am not equipped for that at all. I felt like I would lose several fingers to frostbite to get the following images of frozen stream.

Who can guess what comes now for the end of this post? Correct! Dogs :-) And by the way there is a bit of that promised snow as well...

Thank you very much for reading this and see you next month :-)
